Sand is back on the north-end beach

After weeks of heavy surf that carried rocks onto the terraces and took out cameras, lamps and stairs, the beach at the north end has sand again. Neighbors who walk it every day say it is the first time in a long time. These photos were taken on the afternoon of September 25.

The beach is wide and easy to walk right now, all the way along the front.

Please keep an eye on the forecast. Hurricane Polo is expected to bring rain and strong surf to the region early next week, and the same swell that took the sand away can bring it back up to the wall in a single night. During the storm, stay off the beach and away from the seawall work, and follow the board's notices in the community group.
