Wall collapse on the beach between casas 35 and 38
The damaged wall we reported yesterday collapsed overnight. The tide has been unusually strong and the sea is reaching further in than it has been.
Please stay off this section of beach entirely.
There are now two separate dangers here, and the second is the one people underestimate:
• The debris field on the sand contains broken concrete with exposed rebar and splintered timber. It is not stable footing and it is not safe to climb on.
• The soil face left behind is near-vertical, undercut in places, and cracked. What has already fallen is not the whole event — that face is what comes down next, and it will come down without warning.
Do not walk below the exposed face. Keep children and pets well away. If you rent your home, tell your guests today. Use the beach north or south of this point.
The beach access between casas 30 and 31 also remains closed. These are two separate places along our frontage that have failed in eight days.
If you see damage anywhere else along the beach, please tell the office. The shoreline is long and we are currently finding these one at a time.
