Two palms are touching the high-voltage lines

Two palms in the community have grown into the high-voltage lines and need to come down before the Santa Ana winds arrive.

This is not precautionary. Contact between a palm and a live line has caused shorts and fires here in previous years, and the fronds are dry by this point in the season.

Association maintenance staff cannot do this work. Taking down a palm that is already in contact with a live line requires someone with the right equipment and the training to do it safely, and the office has a quote from the specialist who handles this: two hundred dollars per palm, which includes the crew and hauling away all of the debris.

The work is being scheduled. We will report when it is done.
